You will need:-
- Satin fabric ( you could add tulle also)
- bowl of water (must have)
- hot glue gun
- optional rhinestone button centre
- felt circle
- square template
My square template for this flower is 7 cm square. Cut out your satin fabric. I fold my fabric so I cut out 3 or 4 at a time. I used 6 light pink and 3 ivory 4 might have been better. You can do them all the same colour if you prefer.
I singed the edge of all 4 sides. Hold the fabric above the flame about 1 to 2 cm away you do not want the fabric to touch the flame. Make sure you have your bowl of water in case you touch the flame and catch fire. You just want to seal the edges and curly the a little.
Once you have singed all your squares you are ready to assemble. I fold the square to make a triangle. I put a small dab of glue to glue the wrong sides of the fabric together.
Now this time you want to fold your fabric not in half but about 1/3. I fold it first and press it with my finger to make a crease. Than put the hot glue and fold on the crease to glue it.
Looking at the photo above. The point on the left you will fold behind about 1/3 and it will look something like the photo below. Each 1 will be a little different but that does not matter. Do this to all your square but 2. Leave 1 of each colour for the next step.
With your last 2 fold to and glue to make a triangle as before. This time you want to glue the 2 colours together and you can play around with how you do it.
For this flower I glued the 2 triangles on top of each other than just fold the same as the other petals. You could glue the 2 squares together and than make a triangle and fold it really is up to you.
Here is the 2 colours glue together. This will be your centre.
You will need to cut this point off later.
Now to make it look like a flower. Glue the tip of 1 petal just out from the centre.
Glue the next 2 as shown below.
Now this is why I should have singed and extra cream petal. Was to lazy to back and do another. Glue the 2nd colour in between your first 3 petals. They do not need to touch each other a gap is fine.
I than put the last 2 petals over the gap. The gap would not have been as large if I had the 3rd ivory petal.
The photo above show the last 2 petals added. I am hold it down so you can see it as the petal was sitting up. We still have our 2 centre petals. How ever if you wish you can leave them out and add some bling and have a flat in the centre it will still sit up a little on the sides. I used 1 of our rhinestone buttons The button below is not glued down.
You could also make this flower without singeing the fabric. You could use tulle, lace of any fabric of your choice.
Or we can continue and add out centre petal. You will need to cut off the tip just a little.
Now put hot glue on the bottom where you cut the tip off and a little around the sides. Push the petal into the centre and push the other petals so the also glue to the side of the centre.
Here is the finished flower from two angles.
