Make a sequin lace bow with satin ribbon
Do you have some sequin lace trim scraps you don’t want to throw out but not sure what to do with them? This is the perfect project use use those scraps on.
To make this sequin lace bow with satin ribbon you will need
1 length of 75mm satin ribbon cut to 14cm
1 length of 16mm satin ribbon about 6cm ( I leave it on the roll and cut it after I glue it on)
2 length of sequin lace trim about 75mm wide. I trim the lace so it’s about 5 1/2 cm from scalloped edge .
You will also need a needle and thread and hot glue.
Fold you 14cm ribbon in half and press the centre with your finger to make a crease.
Now fold one end of the satin ribbon over the centre crease by about 1/2 cm
Then do the same with the other end of the satin ribbon. I place a hair clip on the centre edge to hold my ribbon in place.
Take one piece of your sequin lace trim and lay it about 1 1/2 cm from the folded edged of your satin ribbon. The lace edge should sit on the edge of your folded ribbon.
Now to the same with the other side. Clip the hair clip over the lace to hold them in place.
With your needle and thread knotted push your needle though the top edge of your bow. Then do a wide straigth stitch though the centre of your bow.
Pull your needle through and gather the centre of your bow. Then you can wrap the thread about the bow or just pull and push through the other side. I like to go back and forth a few times and then tie of with a knot.
You know have a pretty sequin lace satin ribbon bow. I like to add a matching satin ribbon to the centre. Hot glue the end of your 16mm ribbon to the back of the bow. I place a dab of hot glue to the back of the bow and push the ribbon edge down. Wait a few seconds for the glue to cool then wrap the ribbon around the bow and back to the back add another dab hot glue to the back of your bow and press the ribbon down. I then trim my ribbon close the glued edge.
Now your bow is finished you can attach a hair clip or a headband or even sew the bow on to something.
