You can never have enough satin ribbon flowers in your craft supply stash.
Satin ribbon flower tutorial
To Make this satin ribbon flower you will need:-
- 38mm Satin ribbon 5 lengths 15cm and 2 lengths 12cm
- Needle and thread
- Lighter to seal your satin ribbon ends
- scissors
- Felt circle
- Hot glue gun
- Rhinestone embellishment of your choise
Cut your ribbon into 5 length 15cm and 2 lengths 12cm long. Seal the ends with a lighter.
Thread your needle and knot the end. Fold your 12cm length of satin ribbon in half length ways. With a basic ladder stitch start in the corner of the folded edge. Then continue down the long length making sure to keep the edges of your ribbon together. Continue around the short edge back to the folded corner.
When you go get to the end start on the next length of satin ribbon.
Once you have done the 3 lengths of 12cm satin ribbon pull tight and stitch the ends together.
Do the same now with your 5 lengths of 15cm satin ribbons.
This time when you get to the last length don’t stitch them together. Instead tie a knot in the end of your thread and trim.
You now have one three petal flower and one length of five petals.
Take the end of your five petals and hot glue to the edge of your felt circle. Then hot glue the join of your two petal to the felt circle and make your way around the felt circle.
Your last satin ribbon petal will sit a little to the centre of your flower glue in place.
Take your three petal satin ribbon flower and hot glue to the center of your base flower.
Glue your rhinestone embellishment to the centre of your flower.
You can then fluffy up your petals a little.
