Are you rolling ribbon by hand and need a quicker way to roll your ribbon. Here is a simple way to roll your ribbon with a drill. You will need a

• hacksaw

• Drill

• Bench vise advisable

If you have a bench vise that will make it easier and safer.  You can clamp the dowel in the vise then with the hacksaw cut a slit down the centre length of you dowel.  Depend on what width ribbon you are rolling will depend on how deep you need to go.  It is also a good idea to use a small bit of sandpaper to sand the slit so you don't have any burs.

Once you have cut the slit in your ribbon open up your drill and insert the same as you would a drill bit.

Feed the end of your grosgrain ribbon into the slot and then squeeze your drill button and roll your grosgrain ribbon. Gentle slide the roll off your dowel. I put a finger on both sides of the back and pull the roll off.

Ribbon can be stored in a zip bag to keep it neat.  You just pull a little out as you need it.  Depending on the width and length you roll your ribbon will determin the size of the zip bag you need.

If you need grosgrain ribbon here in Australia we have a huge range on the website.
