Make this triple layer rosette flower using satin ribbon.
You will need
16mm double sided satin ribbon
Hot glue
2 felt circles
Rhinestone button with shank removed.
Cut your 16mm double sided satin ribbon into 8cm lengths.
You will need
8 lengths for the centre layer
10 lengths for the middle layer
11 lengths for the bottom layer.
I did not seal the ends of the ribbon as they will be glued and covered with felt.
I used Plum, Raw silk and Ivory satin ribbon for this flower.
To show you how to fold the ribbon I am using a length of printed ribbon so you can see both sides easily.
First fold your ribbon in half.
Once fold in half tuck the top ribbon behind and glue in place.
Fold and glue all your ribbon lengths this way.
Once you have glued all your ribbon lengths. Use 1 felt circle as a guide to make a ribbon circle. Glue down your first 4 petals to make a cross.
Than fill in the spaces with the remaining petals to make your first layer.
Place your second layer under so it just sits out a little and glue down.
Start in one spot and work your way around the flower and until your have completed the circle.
You can do the first four petals first to create a cross and fill in the spaces to make sure it stays evenly spaced.
Repeat with your final layer.
Make sure your final layer sits out a little for the previous layer. Flower looks a different colour due to the lighting when I took the photo. This is the bottom side of the flower.
Once you have completed the final layer of your flower you can glue a felt circle to the back of your flower. Glue your rhinestone button to the centre of your flower.
You have now completed your flower.
